Abstract

The study proposes a logistic regression model in order to measure the influence of some factors on dropout in Panamanian high school public education system, establishing as variables the Universal Grant, Opportunities Network, students fail, students passing with up to three unfinished courses, and pregnancy. High school system is divided in two categories: academic, and professional and technical. A separate analysis will be prepared for each system. The importance relies in one of the first attempts to assess the impact of the Universal Grant and Opportunity Network programs in relation to the reduction of student dropout rates in the high schools system.
