The Republic of Panama has a particular advantage: its geographical position that promotes international trade and the exploitation of the global supply chain. Additionally, it has assets that offer comparative advantages, such as The Panama Canal, the Colon Free Zone, the Banking Center, the use of the dollar as legal tender, the seaports in the Pacific and the Atlantic, the Tocumen International Airport, telecommunications network, among others. This work aimed to analyze the behavior of fresh grape wine imports, basically in three main (3) tariff headings in our country, identified by its evolution, both quantities and monetary values, and turn its trend in the Panamanian market. It was considering the role assumed by the Colon Free Zone as a factor of trade to and from Panama. Several scientific articles related to the subject were reviewed, and web pages of the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) were browsed, which allowed the elaboration of tables and graphs on the product's behavior and to carry out comparative and descriptive analyses. Finally, with the validity and use of the benefits in the tariff reduction of the Free Trade Agreements with Chile and Spain, the main markets of origin of the product, the trend is growing in the tariff headings: 2204, 2205, and 2206, which in turn allow them to be re-exported to other destinations and exploit business opportunities.
