Abstract

The objective of the investigation is to determine which have been the most widely sold drugs, according to their categories, by pharmaceutical establishments, a product of COVID-19. The methodology used has a quantitative approach, taking into consideration seven categories of drugs, among which are: vitamins, antibiotics, flu, analgesics, anthelmintics, anxiolytics and antidepressants. The population studied was made up of 33 pharmacies located in the district of Santiago, province of Veraguas. The sample is made up of all the pharmaceutical establishments under study. The instrument used to collect the information was based on a survey, this was applied directly to pharmacy personnel, including technicians and graduates in charge of dispensing drugs, all this through dichotomous and multiple-choice questions. 49% indicate that anti-flu drugs have been one of the best-selling drugs, and therefore most consumed during the time of the pandemic, 21% indicate that vitamins have also been one of the drugs with a great boom in sales during the pandemic, being these acquired as means to strengthen the immune system.
