This paper identifies the perception of students and professors of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accounting of the University of Panama towards Remote Emergency Education that was developed during the year 2020 as a result of the quarantine imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a descriptive, cross-sectional, mixed and non-experimental methodology because it is a non-probabilistic and non-random sampling, the analysis was carried out during the year 2021 through the application of the survey technique, using as instruments a questionnaire to obtain the appreciation of 200 students and an interview with 10 teachers from three schools of the Faculty, about the experience obtained during the classes of the year 2020. The results showed that the transition from the traditional methodology to Remote Emergency Education was not an easy task for the students or for the teachers, so the change of culture and mentality of both subgroups was essential to overcome anxiety, fear and frustration at an educational model unknown to most. However, it was possible to conclude that the students acquired a leading role that strengthened their discipline and learning, enhanced collaborative work and promoted quality, while teachers perceived a change in their role as transmitters of information towards that of facilitators, providers resource and information seekers.
