Abstract

This paper tries to describe the results of an exploratory descriptive research, which I carried out together with Professor Ruth de Macre, as an immediate collaborator and, where we deal with the issue of early pregnancy, based on an inefficient education on human values, integral education, sex and human sexuality. In this case, the opinions of a sample of students, male and female, of the intermediate cycle of education, that is, of seventh, eighth and ninth grade of some schools of the Republic of Panama, namely adolescents whose ages range from 12 to 14 years, were analyzed. I have to highlight the support of the students of the Department of Educational and Professional Orientation, of the University of Panama who, as part of a course of Quantitative Research Methodology, under my direction, we made together an instrument for the collection of data which were tested with a pilot sample and analyzed the preliminary results, taking into account the management of certain variables. Also very valuable was the collaboration of some professional counselors in service who, from their respective schools, planned and coordinated the application of the surveys and, at the same time, provided unconditional support. Similarly, the Panamanian Association for Family Planning, APLAFA, which, at the time, provided us with a lot of important information and provided invaluable help. The lack of a legal provision on comprehensive education and also the lack of approval of a law on reproductive health and human sexuality that, for more than 10 ears, sleeps winter sleep in the Legislative Assembly, has left the educational authorities, educators, parents and our entire social conglomerate in an existential vacuum that does not allow it to make decisions regarding a social and health problem. those everyday increases: early pregnancy in our schools. In this regard, (Sáez-Llorenz, 2014), he said: ¿What more will be needed for the education and health authorities to plan an energetic policy of sex education and contraception throughout the island, which includes information, advice, access and free prescription of safe and effective contraceptive methods?
