Abstract

The following paper is a review article and presents the general notions of the two contemporary perspectives into which speculative realism is subdivided and suggests that these interpretations can provide useful elements to deal the hard problem of consciousness. Furthermore, some of the main arguments and criticisms of the different proposals and interpretations to deal the problem of consciousness are presented. All this from the perspective that the debate around the philosophy of mind is a resurgence of the historical metaphysical and ontological debate about the fundamental substance of reality.
