Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to mention the contribution of UVC light as an efficient disinfection methodology in the fight against COVID-19 in Panama. The problem since the end of 2019 is the possibility of contagion of the entire population due to the coronavirus. UVC radiation is an effective disinfection and does not put people at risk. Satinization by means of germicidal ultraviolet light is very helpful, it is a friendly method with the environment and does not expose health, which is why industries adapted their products or created new ones that can be used by the general population. This process is as mentioned by the authors Wright H B and Cairns W L (2000) ¨alternative to chlorine and ozone¨ (Page 01), used worldwide to eliminate the coronavirus. Next, the feasibility in the use of UV light in a safe and profitable way is considered and verified, since the microbial inactivation is proven without significantly affecting its sensory characteristics if they are used in food or water purification. The procedure used for the development of this research is qualitative descriptive through information from scientific articles of indexed journals and publications of a research development nature of UV light. The result is to inform the general population that disinfection using ultraviolet light is safe, economical and profitable.
