The occurrence of accidents at work is associated with losses due to interruptions, even conditions that directly affect the health of the worker or the human resource, therefore, the prevention of accidents at work is a determining factor in the continuity of any business. The objective of the work is to explore the research that has been published on the prevention of occupational accidents in the port sector worldwide from the year 2000 to 2022. A bibliometric analysis was carried out and a systematic collection method was used through search engines academics: Emerald Insight, Proquest, Science Research, Redalyc and Google Scholar. A total of 35 articles associated with the topic of interest were found, which could be classified into five thematic areas. 90% of the magazines found published only one article associated with the prevention of accidents at work in the port sector. Given the great importance of the port sector in the world economy and the negative impact of accidents at work, it is urgent to carry out more specific studies on the real causes of accidents in the sector.
