The training of teachers in the field of initial and elementary education is crucial for the development of future citizens. This study sought to define the profile of the teacher of initial and elementary education based on interviews with thirteen experienced teachers. It is a qualitative research study in which a structured questionnaire. It considered four key aspects: motivation to be a teacher, bond with parents, teacher career challenges, and advice for students in teacher training. The results indicated that the motivation to be a teacher lies in vocation, passion for working with children, and the influence of personal experiences. Effective communication with parents was highlighted as essential, emphasizing empathy and openness in the relationship between teachers and parents. Teachers faced challenges such as adaptation to technology, inclusion of students with special needs and discipline problems. They offered valuable advice to students in teacher training, highlighting the importance of vocation, patience, empathy and adaptability. These results can guide future educators and teacher training programs, with the recommendation to incorporate technology in this research and to expand these studies at a national and international level.
