Abstract

The general objective of this study was to analyze the relationship and differences between academic performance and class attendance in Statistics courses. It is a correlational and comparative study. The population consisted of 202 students enrolled in the first and second semester of 2024 in Statistics courses. A simple random sampling method was used, resulting in a sample of 132 students. The results showed a moderate correlation (? = 0.39) between class attendance and academic performance. Furthermore, significant differences in performance were found across the different levels of attendance. Students with higher attendance had better academic performance. According to the students, the factors that most influence performance are dedication to home study, class attendance, and numerical skills. This study highlights the importance of class attendance, but also the role of other factors in academic success.
