The concept of work in the era of artificial intelligence takes on entirely new characteristics, representing an abrupt break with the traditional ways it was defined during the 20th century. These changes have not only been technological but have also taken place in philosophical, structural, social, and cultural aspects, leading to unprecedented impacts on the foundations upon which organizations are built and redefining the very essence of work. Geographical and temporal barriers have been broken down, demonstrating the transcendental shift in how work is conceived. In the past, the workforce was intimately tied to a specific location, be it an-office, a workshop, a factory, an-establishment, or an industry. The ease and accessibility of high-speed internet, digital platforms, and instant communication tools have changed and transformed workspaces, allowing functions to be performed from diverse parts of the globe. This situation decentralizes operations and transforms the perception of time, given that traditionally rigorous schedules have given way to increasingly flexible models where the result is more important than the hours invested in the work. The evolution of tasks has been another central aspect in this shift in the era of artificial intelligence and digitalization, as automation redefined the role of humans within organizations. The mechanical and continuous tasks that were synonymous with employment are now performed by algorithms or mechanical robots, abruptly displacing workers from performing certain specialized functions in creative, strategic, or analytical areas, forcing them to adapt through constant learning to remain relevant in the environment.
