Abstract

The document reflects on the new trends in evaluation in Higher Education (HE), emphasizing that globalization, technological didactics, certification, and accreditation are constant forces demanding the adaptation of methods to enhance educational quality. In this way, the document highlights aspects such as: transformation of Higher Education, this involves a paradigm shift toward a comprehensive transformation of the individual and an increase in flexibility, allowing a seamless transition between the educational system and the labor market; evaluation as a critical and formative practice where this proposes a centered model that favors institutional autonomy and aligns with a critical or alternative approach to education, which seeks collective construction, flexibility, and evaluation of teaching processes; and accreditation and quality in the global and national context: Here, universities in Panama and the Technological University increasingly face the challenges of globalization, the rise of virtual education, and their participation in international rankings. It is emphasized that the Panamanian higher education system has evolved, having taken significant steps in developing new career programs that meet the demands of businesses and society.
