Abstract

Introduction: The nursing professionals who work in human assisted reproduction clinics live significant experiences with each client. It is of special relevance and motivation to reveal these experiences with the purpose of comprehensively understanding the role of nurses   in these centers. Objective: To describe the essence and meaning of the role of the nurse in the particular context of human assisted reproduction clinics. Methodology: This study uses a qualitative approach with the transcendental phenomenological method. Six nurses determined by saturation participated according to the following criteria: at least 1-year experience in the area and signed consent to participate in the study.   The technique for data collection was in-depth interview and reflexive memos. The analysis of the data was done using   Moustakas (1994) model, modified by Dr. Gordón de Isaacs (2017). Results: Ten central themes related to nursing care and the role of nurses in human assisted reproduction centers, emerged. Also a textural and a structural description of the phenomenon.  Conclusions:  A description and understanding of the role of the nurse in the context of human assisted reproduction clinics was provided.
