Abstract

The suicide attempt is a phenomenon of multiple factors that today is on alert since its incidence is maintained and its prevalence is increasing in Panama. The suicide rate is 3.4 cases per one

hundred thousand inhabitants (May, 2019), leading the province of Los Santos, Panamá Oeste and Veraguas. It is a problem for public health. The purpose of this reflection article is to describe and analyze the situation and provide input on a form of approach, from our disciplinary perspective. For this, we present some official data for the age group 15 to 19 years old. We propose in this reflection the use of Leininger's theory of Diversity and Universality of Care, whose method is Ethno-nursing.
