Youth violence has increased steadily in Panama over recent decades, highlighting the need to strengthen preventive strategies with a social, communicational and
technological focus. This study aims to propose the creation of a YouTube channel as a crime prevention tool for adolescents at social risk in the corregimiento of Barrio Balboa, district of La Chorrera.
A descriptive–exploratory design using a qualitative methodology was employed. Data were gathered through structured surveys administered to 30 adolescents linked to Fundación Barrios Panamá, along with interviews conducted with specialists in criminology, psychology, and digital communication. The results indicate a high level of YouTube use among participants and a favorable view of testimonial audiovisual content as a preventive tool.
