Abstract

The purchasing behavior of the markets has changed radically, people who were not previously consumers of audiovisual services such as Streaming, found it necessary to acquire these platforms to be able to entertain themselves in the face of the tense situation. The objective of this research is to determine how the demand has been in relation to the consumption of streaming services within the market niche made up of the student population of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accounting of the Regional University Center of Veraguas, during the confinement of the health crisis caused by Covid-19. As for the methodology used, it is quantitative in nature with a descriptive approach. The population under study was made up of 823 students belonging to the Faculty of Administration of Business Administration and Accounting of the Regional University Center of Veraguas. To obtain the sample, the SurveyMonkey program was used, in which the aforementioned population was obtained, with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 5%, from which it was found that the sample conforms 268 characters The implemented instrument was based on a survey, applying dichotomous questions supported by the Google Forms tool. According to the results obtained, it is shown that 73% of those surveyed indicate that they have acquired streaming services, 29% indicate that they have acquired these services since the pandemic began, just over two years ago, and 39% are new subscribers, the preferred platform to watch streaming content is led by Netflix with 88%.
