The study deals with learning strategies, recognized as a set of activities, techniques and means that are used with the intention of making the educational process more effective. It is of a descriptive nature, oriented in a transectional design, with the intention of determining its use by students of the annex programs of Sitio Prado and Guabal of the CRU of Veraguas. Using simple random sampling, a total of 83 students from the Faculty of Educational Sciences were surveyed. For the collection of information, a questionnaire designed by (León et al., 2014) was applied, which measures the use of rehearsal, elaboration, organization, metacognitive, self-regulation, and evaluation strategies. The results allow to visualize in the use percentages higher than 70% in the option always and sometimes for all the aspects studied. It is concluded that, in the six types of learning strategies, students indicate periodic use, which, if the level of use by university students is focused on our objective; It is positive since it is understood that they are capable of facing and solving problems, they have developed and are promoting their intellect and strengthened their abilities.
