Bibliometric indicators of literature on the scientific production of marketing in the financial sector

Abstract

Financial marketing is a tool used in the banking sector to publicize the goods that these companies offer to the customer market. This research work seeks to show some bibliometric indicators on financial marketing that allow us to visualize how this topic has been addressed in the literature through scientific publications. To achieve this objective, the Scopus database was accessed, and the concept of financial marketing was written in English (financial marketing), which made it possible to collect all the research works that had this term either in the title, summary or words clue. The results show 169 documents found classified into 8 types: article 86, session documents 43, book chapters 18, reviews (contributions) 7, reviews (conference) 7, book 6, short survey 1 and report 1. The largest number of Published documents are concentrated in the last five years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022,  and November 2023 with a percentage representation of: 7.69%, 7.10%, 5.92%, 6.51% and 10.06% respectively. 3 thematic maps were built: one of 19 authors who have received a minimum number of 20 citations, also another of 6 organizations that have published at least 2 documents and finally one with a number of 53 keywords that have at least 3 co-occurrences, this last map presents the words grouped in 8 clusters. It is concluded that financial marketing has been addressed by several authors in different research works and this provides an overview of how the discipline of marketing can be used in the field of finance.
