Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the impact that work stress has on the performance of workers and management in the FEDPA insurance area, Colon branch, and in this way a proposal was presented that would allow the implementation of strategies to minimize and optimize employee performance. Among the main causes that were observed through this research was that employees had an excessive workload, pressure to meet deadlines and lack of support and information from their superiors. This work used the mixed methodological design, which was conducted by creating Likert scale surveys, which were distributed among all workers to have more real information about the situation analyzed. The results of this research showed that there was an elevated level of stress, which reduced performance, producing an increase in absenteeism, as well as the alteration of the relationship between workers. Through the analysis of the results, a wellness program for the management of work stress was presented. It included training in stress management, therapy, and psychological care, as well as the necessary adjustments to manage the workload, a recognition system, and other aspects that were considered relevant to be able to deal with the situation analyzed. The conclusions of the research concluded that to minimize stress it is important to implement the proposed strategies since these interventions help reduce the cause of work stress, promoting the health and well-being of workers and the organizational climate.
