Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between burnout syndrome and anxiety in teachers who teach at the Manuel Belgrano General Basic Educational Center in the district of San Miguelito. The type of study was descriptive and correlational and the research design was non-experimental. We worked with 18 teachers to whom standardized measurement instruments were applied: the Trait and State Anxiety Inventory. (IDARE) by C. D. Spielberger, R. L. Gorsuch, R. E. Lushe and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) Questionnaire. The results indicated that the 18 teachers obtained a high score on the scale that measures anxiety as a state, while in anxiety-trait, 13 teachers, who represent 72% of the sample, qualified as a high level, while 5 remaining teachers, which represent 28%, obtained a moderate score. Regarding the Burnout syndrome, it was possible to conclude that the teachers did not show the syndrome as such. The results of this investigation allowed us to observe that there was no significant relationship between the Burnout syndrome and anxiety in the teachers of the Manuel Belgrano General Basic Educational Center.
