Abstract

This study, was based in the emotional intelligence theory of Gross and other collaborators who have contributed to understanding the development of intelligence and emotional regulation. An exhaustive bibliographic review of different types of studies in relation to this subject was carried out. Theories of emotional intelligence, emotional regulation and development of interpersonal relationships were analyzed. It was proposed to identify the influence that emotional regulation has on the development of interpersonal relationships in 4th year students of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Panama. The relationship between emotional regulation and the development of interpersonal relationships will be produced. The type of study is correlational, with a single sample design. To collect the research data, the following questionnaires were used: TMMS-24 to measure emotional regulation and the NRI-QV to establish the quality of interpersonal relationships.
