Abstract

This work shows the limitations to carry out prevention measures for the COVID-19 pandemic, these are: keeping a healthy distance, washing hands frequently, “staying at home” and isolation in the home, from some family member, who contracted the virus. The study area is the Caribbean subdivision of the city of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico, which is considered a social interest subdivision and has been financed by the Institute of the National Workers' Housing Fund (Infonavit) and the Fondo de housing of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (Fovissste). A survey was carried out through an online application and the data was processed taking into account that it is not a representative sample, therefore this work is considered as exploratory. The results help to conclude that the habitability conditions: dimensions of the house, lack of continuous access to drinking water service and the overcrowding of the study area make it difficult to comply with the indications of the Ministry of Health in Mexico.
