Abstract

This article is part of the analysis of the current situation regarding the access and use of users in the Infoplazas located in the 10 provinces of the country. Technological resources, infrastructure and content are aspects that were considered to carry out the analysis. The research is descriptive and exploratory, so during eight months (June 2018 - February 2019) 1,074 users were surveyed from 13 years and older, who provided information about their profile, assistance to the Infoplazas, frequency of Internet access and the information they use. In addition, these users reviewed and evaluated the services offered by the Infoplaza of their community. The results show that Infoplazas nationwide respond to the needs of users, but the number of users visits each day increases in contrast to user satisfaction, down from 60%. These results suggest greater financial resources and planning, in order to achieve better service to users: adequate facilities for people with disabilities, higher Internet speed, adequate lighting and furniture, taking into account the updating and maintenance of the equipment computational. Regarding the free services of the Infoplazas, they allude not to charge students and the general public. Under the limitations of the Infoplazas, they have shown that they give answers to the community that is moving towards the appropriation of information.
