The minimum invasive surgery has taken some importance in the management of many diseases and inclusively is the elective technique in some other like cholecystectomy. The splenectomy by laparoscopic way is a laborious proceeding that requires a major techníque, but it doesn't escape from the benefits per se of the laparoscopic surgery: the faster postoperatory recuperation, rapidly deambulation, less postoperatory pain, better lung function, less hospitalary station, less incapacity and better cosmetic results and others.
We present the first patient who had a splenectomy by the laparoscopic way in Hospital Santo Tomas.
