This is a review of what is known about the main characteristics of the nuclear membrane. It describes the pore complex and the proteins associated to this common structure of our cells. The net formed by laminar proteins A, B and C is also described and its relation to the nuclear surface of the internal membrane and with the chromatin. Also the role played by the laminar proteins in phosphorylation and dephospholyration in the nuclear membrane is considered.
