Psoriasis is a non-contagious chronic dermatosis, characterized by well-defined squamous-erythematous cutaneous lesions mainly located in the scalp, elbows, knees, sacral region, extension surface of the forearm that could affect large zones of the skin and exceptionally the face. It can also affect nails and joints. Psoriasis is a non-tumoral proliferation of genetically predisposed keratinocyte produced by physical agents (trauma, environmental changes, and heat), chemical agents (toxics, drugs), infections,: allergic and neuropsychic reactions. It can be classified in Type I and Type 1I psoriasis according to age, c1ínical evolution and genetic history, and there are also diverse clinical forms. Diagnose is done by clinical findings, methodic scaling and is confirmed by a biopsy. Important remissions can be achieved with a treatment adapted to each case and each evolutionary state ofthe disease. The duration ofthe remission period can't be predicted.
