Falls are the second most common cause of mortality after traffic accidents. Trauma by free fall is defined as an injury to a person that occurs after landing on the ground after falling from a higher place, such as a ladder, scaffold, building, roof, or other elevated place. Most patients that suffers injuries from non-intentional free fall are men. The majority of reported cases of unintentional free falls correspond to the productive age group (age range: 15 years -44 years) and work in construction. Below, we present a case of a 16-year-old man who accidentally fell from a three-story (14-meter) scaffold.
