The present article is a basic review about different therapeutic modalities used in Psychiatry. It has the purpose to bring the students a synthesized document to be used, besides as a consultation source, to understand better the different resources used in the actual treatment of mental illness. Making emphasis on the bio psychosocial unit of the human being; it describes therapeutics resources that work trough psychological pathway like psychotherapy, as well as biological resources synthesized trough pharmacotherapy of different mental illness. On the other hand, it focus other treatments in Psychiatry as therapeutic hypnosis and electro convulsive therapy, finally it covers a plural set of tools that are also used with therapeutics purposes in this field of Medicine.
