Abstract

The Revista Médico Científica founded in 1980, is the oldest scientific organization of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama. “Those who forget its history are condemned to repeat it”. This thought is what prompted us to dare to write so many years of existence in a few pages. In this review we will discuss how the journal started, what has been its evolution, and its current state. Through the documentation of the strengths, challenges, achievements and successes that have been achieved during its three decades of existence. Also, we will acknowledge the work of founding students and all of those who have ever been a part of its prestigious editorial board; as well as those teachers, Panamanian doctors who have believed in the magazine, and have collaborated and provided unconditional support all these years.
