Febrile Neutropenia is one of the most common complications in immunocompromised individuals and it is defined as an absolute neutrophil count less than 1500 cells/mm3, together with a temperature more than 38.3 ° C or a peak fever equal or more than 38 ° C for at least an hour. The concepts about Febrile Neutropenia have been updated in recent years and especially, in the area of disease management is essential to establish a rapid diagnosis and an initial empirical treatment, because the quality of life of these patients deteriorates quickly if appropriate measures are not taken in time and can lead to death. The following review will present the current concepts about the etiology, clinical and therapeutic recommendations for Febrile Neutropenia.
