Abstract

There are groups of neoplasms linked to HIV-infected individuals and the vast majority have a viral ethiology, such as Epstein-Bar virus, Herpes virus type eight and human papilloma virus.

Aparently this type of neoplasms is most prevalent in the HIV/AIDS population due to the reduction of the immune antiviral response produced by HIV.

We expect that with advances in highly effective retroviral treatment, the incidence of neoplasms and opportunistic infections will diminish in this type of patients.
