Abstract

This project consisted of identifying and evaluating the trees health in three areas of Colon city to determine and suggest the appropriate management according to the case (felling, replacement, relocation, or pruning). Each tree was georeferenced, and a map was created with the data to facilitate their treatment. The specific areas were: Downtown Colón, Arco Iris, and Margarita; data were collected on the species, morphometry, health condition, and location of the trees and the established areas, resulting in a total of 87 species in a study area of 0.26 km2

This information fills the ignorance of quantity, quality, and species of trees found in the easement areas of the urban areas of the Colón district and, with this, it seeks to have the database for the future elaboration of a plan of management that allow managing the trees that are in danger and that must be protected since they represent a danger to the community and must be treated according to standard solutions.
