The first record of the scorpion fauna of Barro Colorado Island Natural Monument, Panama, is documented from ultraviolet light sampling conducted in November and December 2025. Twelve individuals belonging to three species and two families were recorded: Tityus jaimei, Tityus ocelote (Buthidae), and Opisthacantus elatus (Hemiscorpiidae). The species showed differences in microhabitat use and in their degree of association with natural and anthropogenic environments. This study provides preliminary information on the composition and ecology of scorpions on the island and establishes a basis for future taxonomic and ecological research.
