Abstract

A predation event between the bat species Eptesicus furinalis and Phyllostomus discolor in eastern Panama is reported. This event was recorded using the mist-nets method in the Mamoní Valley biodiversity project. This is the first observed case of P.discolor predating a bat. This record contributes to the knowledge about the diet of bats in the predator-prey relationship for the region of Panama.
