The presence of ectoparasites was evaluated in fishlings of nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus raised in the Estación Dulceacuícola of Divisa, Repúblic of Panamá. A total of 75 sixty days old fishlings were analyzed, weight and length were measured. The gills, mucus and sections of each fin were prepared fresh for observation. The presence of parasites was registered in 59 individuals (79%) using an optic microscope. Two monegenes were identified, Gyrodactylus sp. and Cichlidogyrus sp. Representing 1.69% of the total sampled, respectively; also, ciliated protozoa were found: Trichodina sp. (100 %), Ambiphrya sp. (27.10 %) y Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (6.77 %). This study represents the first report of Cichlidogyrus sp. and Ichthyophthirius multifiliis in this aquaculture station.
