The teaching of physics is being questioned and is considered ineffective. Various reasons are offered as an explanation, among which the following are mentioned: Low quality in the previous training of students, the scarce applicability of the contents taught, the quality of teachers, etc. There is a need to engage in a systematic study of the different vairables, in order to take steps which will actually result in the improvement of the rates of the index considered apropiate to measure the efectiveness of teaching physics. In this paper we present the results of a case study which allows us to develop an active physics teacher’s profile in relation to experimental activity, all which should allow for some recomendations in relation to both the initial and continous training. These results are also useful to develop a survey for gathering statiscal information, as well as guiding the research for the relevant parameters in a problem dealing with n vaiables.
