The present research aims to analyze the equipment in relation to the virtual servers in the public Institutions of the City of Babahoyo. The methodology used to carry out this article is the field, bibliographic method and the applied technique is the interview with the different institutions of the City of Babahoyo, in order to analyze the technological infrastructures, their resources such as hard disk space, memory, connectivity to other computers and internet. As a result of the analysis, the security of the applications that are hosted on the servers and of the applications that are not hosted in the Institutions is diagnosed, as a conclusion it indicates that the benefits according to bibliographic and field research allowed us to know the multiple advantages that virtual servers have, including economic, space and energy savings, not counting the ease of continuity and backup, and also that other factors found are the technical characteristics that should support the application of virtual servers, such as taking into account the security and features such as network structure, firewall, cache capabilities and hard drive storage.
