Abstract

Analyzing the level of satisfaction of public transport users is an issue of great importance for cities around the world. With the growing urban population and increasing traffic congestion, it is essential that public transport systems meet the needs of users. The objective of this research is to analyze the level of satisfaction of public transport users in the province of Panama Oeste. The development of the study was carried out using a descriptive methodology because it emphasizes data analysis; combining quantitative and qualitative research approaches taking into account the user's perception. This research is cross-sectional, referring to a specific period of the year, obtaining secondary information from documents such as theses and scientific articles, finally the primary information was obtained by conducting a survey of 25 users of public transportation in Panama Oeste, being thequestionnaire the instrument used to analyze the study variable. As a result, it was determined that the treatment provided by the drivers and the physical condition of public transportation are unsatisfactory for 60% and 64% of the users, respectively. In addition, 76% of the users are dissatisfied with the arrival time. It was concluded that users of public transportation in Panama Oeste may face discomfort, insecurity and lack of accessibility for people with disabilities. Corrective measures are proposed to improve accessibility, cleanliness and quality of the vehicles to improve the user experience.
