Abstract

ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) enterprise resource planning systems provide companies with multiple benefits if implemented and used correctly, because they centralize information and automate processes in various areas of the company such as sales, projects, production, finances, human resources, operations, customer service, supply chain, among others. By centralizing information from these departments, companies have the resources to efficiently manage production, improve quality and delivery times, this generates an increase in profitability, eliminates duplication, manages human capital, optimizes processes and facilitates the operation. of the company by obtaining information in real time. The objective of this research is to determine the importance of implementing an ERP system in companies to improve efficiency and optimize resources. The scope of this work is supported by a qualitative, documentary-type approach that includes an exhaustive review of the existing literature on the topic, through reliable writings.

The technological impact generated by the adaptation of a computer system within the company is significant. Due to this impact, the company must plan to train human resources and invest in an internal technological project that consists of reconfiguring its architecture, infrastructure and system customization.

For the implementation of ERP in companies to generate improvement in operational efficiency and optimization of resources, it is important to correctly manage the pre-implementation, implementation and post-implementation.

Some aspects to consider when selecting an ERP are: budget, technological platform options that the company has or plans to integrate, existing processes (take into consideration which can be automated and eliminate duplicate work to avoid reprocessing), train the human talent and a certified partner. There are various ERP system solutions on the market, not all of them are the same. These differ for structural reasons and the business model
