Abstract

Panama is a tropical country, therefore, some factors must be considered when allowing large natural light to enter the building, such as the geometry of the openings and the type of glazing without affecting the level of lux necessary for the adequate performance of tasks in the workplace. This study is focused on areas designated for office activities, spaces of this type must have a high level of lighting, the first option to achieve adequate lighting is the use of artificial sources which, of course, suggests a high demand in the electrical consumption of space. It was concluded that the lighting levels in the workplaces located within the study area are within the range of lux required by the European standard.
