The socio-environmental impacts of the unplanned occupation of the territory, ignoring the nature of the place, have been proven and with the contemporary urges of climate change and the pandemic, rethinking the landscape of cities has become more necessary than ever. In this context, green infrastructure emerges as a tool that would allow sustainable landscape planning, that is, promote urban development in accordance with the support capacity of a place. In this article we will conceptualize green infrastructure and analyze how it was incorporated into the English context at different scales, from local to regional, based on the analysis of the “Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park” Project. As a result, it was observed that green infrastructure helps to promote the ecological and socio-cultural functions of the city landscape.
