Today more people live in cities, resulting in the appearance of new urban nodes, which means less natural footprint and the appearance of the effects of heat islands. The latter are due to several factors; however, this study focuses on the relationship of these phenomena with the surfaces where pedestrians circulate. The study is based on analyzing different types of pavements depending on the material and the surface temperature to make a comparison and highlight which performs better in different atmospheric conditions. The research aims to provide useful information for the design of pavements that generate comfort for pedestrians in tropical cities.
