Natural spaces are important for the physical and emotional health of people; they must be taken care of to maintain happy and united communities. In this paper, the Matasnillo River and its surroundings were studied, specifically in the township of Pueblo Nuevo, to know what are the conditions in which they are and, above all, to know the perception of the people who transit or live in the area. The study has identified a series of general trends that can be seen in the basins of the different rivers that run through Panama City, the poor disposal of solid waste and pollution from nearby buildings keep the Matasnillo River in unfavorable conditions. However, we highlight the results obtained within the survey applied on the site, since these reveal that the visitors and inhabitants of the district consider the area studied as a positive place and with a view to improving through a correct implementation of green policies in the village, thus taking advantage of its central location.
