In Panama City as in other Latin American countries with tropical-humid climates, the shadow that architectural design can produce when building is not taken into account, which produces spaces with a lot of direct sunlight, generating pedestrian discomfort In addition, in our country no studies have been found that promote the analysis of light and shadow to buildings in the city. Four high-rise buildings were located in front of 50th Street, an important and busy road in the center of Panama City. The shadow cast by these buildings is evaluated by georeferencing using Sketchup software. It was concluded that the incidence of shade on public space on 50th Street is from little to almost nil. Through the use of georeferencing in sketchup software, you can analyze the behavior of the shadows generated by the buildings throughout the day and evaluate potential actions that improve environmental conditions in public spaces.
