Gathering of knowledge through research is something that has become less practices in colleges. Ever more frequently research projects as a graduation requirement has been displaced by seminars, postgraduate courses or supervised internship. Research, as part of a college's activities, has a special importance in this new “Society of Knowledge” becoming the university itself the institution of Knowledge, which must urgently assume its core task of researcher to fulfill it role educational activity. Through the analysis of the contents or the research subjects, and the link with teaching and student’s activities, we seek information about the Competencies of the former and the latter for the development of research. The article provides elements to reposition Research as a curricular Axis in the University by reviewing teaching practices, students and researcher’s activities, and the identification of competencies required for research.
