The crime of domestic violence has been subject to numerous reforms and the most recent is Law 82 of 2013 that introduces the figure of Femicide and other violent behavior against women such as psychological and economic violence. With this, interpretative problems arise, inconsistencies, from the legal consequences, by the exaggerated casuism and in general by a deficient legislative technique. Consequently, a comprehensive review of the crime of domestic violence is required, and it is advisable that psychological and physical violence be located in the chapter of crimes of injury, and at the same time, we warn that within this examination the exclusive preference to women is demanded, to the detriment of the protection of other types of people.
