This paper aims to examine critically the discussion around the Panamanian national identity, particularly those perspectives proposed by professional philosophers, as well as determine its scope and revisit its assumptions. With this in mind, we will attempt to contextualize this discussion as far as possible, highlighting the historical factors that motivate it and evaluating its current validity.
