Abstract

Education has a great potential to revert the general deterioration and cultural transformation that affect indigenous communities, product of the process of colonization that they have suffered during centuries; but it should be an appropriate education that fortifies their cosmovisions for the construction of well-being. Formal education as part of the project modernity/coloniality, constitutes a tool of ideological domination, for the control of making power, knowledge and being. Transforming it is the true challenge.
