This essay is characterized by presenting an analysis in Library Research and Information Science, it begins a structure arguing in Library Research as a subject, its main objective focuses on the student with the purpose of seeing library science and the science of information not only as a profession, but also as a scientific discipline that guides and stimulates research, at the same time contributes to the formation of research, the discipline and the profession, in Librarianship as a Social Science: Librarianship or Library Science , in the definitions of different authors in Information Science, in Information Sciences, finally in the Competencies of the professional in Library Science and Information Science.
