In 2018, 7 years after the entrance of the student movement, different movements become visible. The most creative and surprising was the student feminist movement, which originally sought to mobilize for free education, end of profit and indebtedness. But little by little, the strikes were dyed violet and high schools and universities were taken all over the country. Another important movement was the anti extractivist, better known as the "movement for the defense of the territory and the sacrificial zones". Citizens were mobilized mainly in different regions against extractivist projects, particularly the thermoelectric one located in the V Region, in the Puchuncaví’s district. The spark of this movement was the strange death of activist and fisherman Alejandro Castro. While the last large demonstrations in Chile in 2018, were those against the murder of the Mapuche commoner Camilo Catrillanca, who was gunned down by special forces in November 2018. From this, this article seeks to understand the particularities of these movements, their convergences and ruptures and the common elements and that differentiate them to the preceding movements. This research was conducted on the basis of thorough interviews with activists and observations participating in protests and occupations, as well as through secondary sources such as the press and academic articles.
